Day 1

Dar Es Salaam - Mikumi National Park

You will be picked up from Dar es Salaam early in the morning at 5 am and embark on a scenic drive to Mikumi National Park. Your route will take you through Chalinze and Morogoro towns, with the entire journey lasting up to 7 hours. Upon arrival in Mikumi National Park, you'll begin an afternoon game drive, exploring the park's diverse landscapes and spotting its impressive wildlife, including lions, elephants, giraffes, and buffaloes. As the day winds down, you'll head to Camp Bastian Mikumi for an overnight stay, where you can relax and reflect on your day's adventures in the heart of the park.

Day 2

Mikumi to Udzungwa National Park

After breakfast in the morning, you'll set off for Udzungwa Mountains National Park, accompanied by a picnic lunch pack. Upon arrival, you'll embark on a trekking adventure that takes you along the spectacular trails leading to Sanje Falls. This stunning waterfall is one of the park's highlights, offering breathtaking views of the Kilombero Valley, an area renowned for its agricultural significance. Spend the afternoon exploring this unique park and soaking in its natural beauty. After your trek, you'll drive back to Mikumi National Park before dark. Once there, you'll return to Camp Bastian Mikumi for an overnight stay, where you can unwind and enjoy the serene surroundings.

Mikumi to Dar Es Salaam

After an early breakfast, you can choose between embarking on another morning game drive in Mikumi National Park or visiting a nearby Maasai village to experience local culture and traditions. Both options offer a memorable way to conclude your time in the park. By noon, you'll begin your drive back to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival, you’ll check into your accommodation for the night, reflecting on your safari adventure and enjoying a restful evening before your onward journey.

When and where does the tour end?

Your tour Ends in Dar Es Salaam city or DAR Airport. We highly recommend booking accommodation to give yourself time to ease any logistics one day before safari!

When and where does the tour start?

Day 1 of this tour is an arrival day, and it will involve a pick up at DAR airport  and drop off to your hotel.

Do you arrange airport transfers?

We definitely have airport pick up and drop up services available for our clients who have booked our full packages tour. We are also pleased to inform you that we don’t charge for the pick up and drop off services. Actually it’s free of cost. But for this you need to provide the arrival time and date.

What about the local language? Do we need guide services everywhere?

We provide English speaking chauffeurs for individual tours. For group tours, English speaking tour escorts would accompany the groups. During sightseeing involving historically important places or monuments, we provide English speaking local guides who are well knowledged in history and culture. We could even provide guides who speak French, German and Japanese but only on advanced booking.

Is tipping included in the tour cost? If not how much should it be for the trip?

Tipping is not included in any of our packages and it is left the discretion of the travellers. Though not compulsory, tipping is expected by one and all involved in the service industry. We would recommend carrying small change in your pocket. Tips to Guides or other services rendered (Highly recommended)

What is the age travel limit for children?

We accept children of all ages to travel on safari and believe it is a wonderful experience for families to travel together. For children to make the most out of their travels, we suggest looking into one of our special family itineraries. We have car seats available for very young children. Please bear in mind, some of the accommodation have minimum age restrictions, so please inform us of the age of your child/children.

When is the best time to travel for this tour?

This tour is great for any time of year, however the best time for game viewing in the parks is during the dry season from June to February when wildlife converges on the dwindling water reserves notably the river, lakes and waterholes.
