Travel Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival Day

Upon your arrival at Arusha Airport, you will be welcomed by a member of our team who will transfer you by car to Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge.  Nestled between the lofty peaks of Mt. Meru and Kilimanjaro, this charming town is known as the safari capital of Tanzania. If you love coffee, or simply beautiful open spaces go on an informative Coffee Tour exploring the history of the bean and the process of nurturing, harvesting, drying and roasting a variety of different blends. For coffee connoisseurs, this is a wonderful experience. Overnight: Arusha Coffee Lodge

Day 2 - 4

Katavi National Park

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred by car to Arusha Airport where you will board your scheduled light aircraft flight. A flight of about 4 hours, with a refuel stop in Tabora before arriving in Katavi National Park. This flight really illustrates just how remote and untouched this part of Tanzania is. There is nothing but wilderness for miles as you fly over the country. The park is an abundance of wildlife, and massive herds of elephant and buffalo congregate on the floodplains. In the dry season massive hippo populations abound here, and reveal a spectacular sight as over 200 large grey bodies flop together in liquid pools, and baby hippos thoroughly enjoy bobbing on their mom’s back, and playing hide and seek under the water. Dinner and overnight Chanda Katavi.

Day 5 - 7

Mahale National Park

Today, take a scheduled light aircraft flight to Mahale National Park, a short flight of 25 minutes, which takes you over the Mahale Mountains and lands on the banks of Lake Tanganyika. The Park created to protect dense populations of chimpanzees, the lush forests of the Mahale Mountains National Park are home to these beautiful creatures. You will be welcomed by a representative and your guide from Greystoke Mahale. After a delicious lunch on your boat, start your 90 minute long boat transfer along the shores of Lake Tanganyika to the lodge. Greystoke Mahale is located in the chimp-inhabited forests of the Mahale Mountains in West Tanzania. Head off on daily treks to discover incredible primates. Guided by trackers and scouts you will be divided into groups of six and hike the narrow mountain trails to find them. Once they have been located cherish your hour with them as they play together, irritate each other, frolic, eat, and engage with each other. Housing Tanzania’s densest population of primates, including yellow baboon, red colobus, red-tailed, vervet monkeys and playful chimpanzees in leafy trees make sure to look out for the different colours and markings as you hike through tangled foliage. Splash in the water and enjoy numerous activities including snorkelling, fishing and kayaking. Peer into the clear depths as over 250 species of colourful cychlids glide by. Head out on the dhow for an evening fishing cruise and sundowners on the lake. Dinner and Overnight: Greystoke Mahale

Day 8

Frequently Asked Questions

Let’s clarify your confusions. Here are some of the Frequently Asked Questions which most of our client asks.

Have a question in mind

Looking for more info? Send a question to the tour agent to find out more.

When and where does the tour end?

Your tour Ends in Arusha Airport.

When and where does the tour start?

Day 1 of this tour is an arrival day, and it will involve a pick up at Kilimanjaro airport  and drop off to your hotel.

Do you arrange airport transfers?

We definitely have airport pick up and drop up services available for our clients who have booked our full packages tour. We are also pleased to inform you that we don’t charge for the pick up and drop off services. Actually it’s free of cost. But for this you need to provide the arrival time and date.

During sightseeing involving historically important places or monuments, we provide English speaking local guides who are well knowledged in history and culture. We could even provide guides who speak French, German and Japanese but only on advanced booking.

Is tipping included in the tour cost? If not how much should it be for the trip?

Tipping is not included in any of our packages and it is left the discretion of the travellers. Though not compulsory, tipping is expected by one and all involved in the service industry. We would recommend carrying small change in your pocket. Tips to Guides or other services rendered (Highly recommended)

What is the age travel limit for children?

Tanzania is Africa's Masterpiece. anzania is the untamed half of east Africa, the raw safari experience that first drew explorers from around the world, home to endless savannah, volcanic mountains, the Great Migration and the towering walls of the Ngorongoro Crater. A few hours away is mighty Mount Kilimanjaro itself, where adventure seekers can hike through a series of wildly different landscapes in a bid to reach the pinnacle of Africa, accompanied by a full complement of hardy porters and experienced guides. Although the mountain can be summited without having to do any serious climbing, it is still to be respected. Though the summit of Kilimanjaro lies among the clouds, those wanting to stand upon the mountain need not climb to the very top, as special excursions cater for short hikes and picnic lunches on its slopes.
