Day 1

Arrival in Arusha

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by your transfer driver. Enjoy a scenic 90-minute drive to your hotel in Arusha, where you can catch stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru from your right-hand window. Afternoon Activities If you arrive early, take advantage of the afternoon to explore. You can go bird watching in the hotel garden, indulge in a coffee tasting tour at a nearby estate, or visit a local market to experience the vibrant culture of Arusha. Alternatively, simply relax by the pool and unwind after your travels. Dinner and Overnight Stay After a delicious dinner at your hotel, you’ll have the chance to relax and recharge for your exciting safari adventure that begins the next morning. Enjoy a peaceful night’s rest at the African Tulip Hotel, setting the stage for the incredible journey ahead. Meals are available upon request.

Arusha-Lake Manyara

Breakfast and Departure to Lake Manyara After breakfast, depart from Arusha for a scenic two-hour drive to Lake Manyara. Along the way, you’ll pass through the vibrant farming town of Mto Wa Mbu, a perfect spot for souvenir hunters to practice their bartering skills with the friendly locals. Exploring Lake Manyara National Park Upon entering Lake Manyara National Park, prepare for a photographer's paradise. The park is rich in wildlife, featuring the world-famous tree-climbing lions, flocks of brightly colored flamingos, and the largest baboon troops in Africa. As you explore, keep your camera ready to capture these incredible sights. Sunset over the Great Rift Valley As the day draws to a close, witness the stunning sunset over the Great Rift Valley, a breathtaking end to your adventurous day. Meet the Hadza People

Dawn with the Hadzabe Bushmen Rise early to join the Hadzabe bushmen for their traditional dawn hunt. Living much as they have for centuries, the Hadzabe embody a hunter-gatherer lifestyle that connects you to ancient ways of life. Hunting Demonstration and Gathering Experience Participate in a captivating hunting demonstration, where you'll observe the hunters using tactics like mimicking animal cries to lure prey, followed by the use of homemade poisons. Additionally, you’ll see the women of the tribe gathering fruits, vegetables, and herbs for breakfast, providing a unique cultural insight. Exploration of Lake Eyasi After breakfast, spend the day exploring the Lake Eyasi region. You can take a scenic drive around the lake or enjoy a nature walk to stretch your legs. While Lake Eyasi may not feature dangerous big game, it offers opportunities to see various herbivores and a stunning array of birdlife amidst beautiful surroundings. Lake Eyasi- Ngorongoro

Journey to Ngorongoro Crater After breakfast, embark on your journey to the iconic Ngorongoro Crater. The drive is captivating as you wind through mist-shrouded rainforests, where you might spot baboons, cape buffalo, and even elephants roaming amidst the lush undergrowth. Don’t miss the Ngorongoro Crater viewpoint for a breathtaking panoramic vista of the crater floor, often dappled with clouds. Exploration of the Crater Descend into the renowned Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as the 8th Wonder of the World. This lush ecosystem is home to an incredible array of wildlife. A day with the Maasai

Drive to the Serengeti After breakfast, set off on the scenic drive towards the Serengeti. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in two unique cultural experiences: a visit to Oldupai Gorge and a traditional Masai boma. Visit to Oldupai Gorge Your first stop is Oldupai Gorge, a significant archaeological site that provides a glimpse into human prehistory. Here, volcanic ash has perfectly preserved the footprints of ancient men and women who once inhabited the region. At the Oldupai Gorge Museum, learn about the remarkable human journey that began in Africa and led to the global migration of our species. Traditional Masai Boma Experience Next, visit a traditional Masai boma, where you’ll meet local Masai people and explore their vibrant village. Step inside a typical Masai home to gain insight into their daily lives. You can buy locally made crafts, enjoy traditional dancing, and wander through the village to learn more about their customs and traditions. You’ll typically embark on two game drives: one early in the morning and another in the late afternoon. Morning Game Drive Rise early to catch the sunrise over the savannah. During the morning drive, you'll have the chance to spot various wildlife as they become active with the cooler temperatures. Look out for lions, elephants, and other iconic species roaming the plains. Sundowner Experience After an exciting morning, return to the lodge for a leisurely lunch. Later in the day, head out for an afternoon game drive, where you can enjoy the golden hour before sunset. When and where does the tour end?

Your tour Ends in Arusha Airport. We highly recommend booking accommodation to give yourself time to ease any logistics one day before safari!

When and where does the tour start?

Day 1 of this tour is an arrival day, and it will involve a drop off from your Kilimanjaro airport to your hotel in Arusha.

Do you arrange airport transfers?

We definitely have airport pick up and drop up services available for our clients who have booked our full packages tour. We are also pleased to inform you that we don’t charge for the pick up and drop off services. Actually it’s free of cost. But for this you need to provide the arrival time and date.

What about the local language? Do we need guide services everywhere?

We provide English speaking chauffeurs for individual tours. For group tours, English speaking tour escorts would accompany the groups. During sightseeing involving historically important places or monuments, we provide English speaking local guides who are well knowledged in history and culture. We could even provide guides who speak French, German and Japanese but only on advanced booking.

Is tipping included in the tour cost? If not how much should it be for the trip?

Tipping is not included in any of our packages and it is left the discretion of the travellers. Though not compulsory, tipping is expected by one and all involved in the service industry. We would recommend carrying small change in your pocket. Tips to Guides or other services rendered (Highly recommended)

What is the age travel limit for children?

We accept children of all ages to travel on safari and believe it is a wonderful experience for families to travel together. For children to make the most out of their travels, we suggest looking into one of our special family itineraries. We have car seats available for very young children. Please bear in mind, some of the accommodation have minimum age restrictions, so please inform us of the age of your child/children.

Can I combine my safari with a trip to Zanzibar?

Definitely - Zanzibar is a great addition to any safari itinerary or even just as an idyllic escape on its own!
