Day 1
Arrival Day
Upon your arrival at Zanzibar Airport, connect smaller Charter aircrafts to Pemba. Pemba Island has been separated from the mainland of Tanzania and Zanzibar for decades, leaving an untouched and pristine island of great beauty and fertility. The mosaic of forests, swamps, mangroves, hidden beaches and lagoons is scattered with the ruins of mosques and tombs mostly reclaimed by the forest – sites that date back to Arab domination when Pemba Island was seized by the Sultan of Muscat (Oman) in the 17th century. He loved the Spice Islands and established his court in Zanzibar and ruled Muscat from there. At the airport you will be met by a member of our team who will drive you to The Manta Resort. Just to be clear: This is a remote island off the east coast of Africa, and probably as far away from civilisation you might ever find yourself. The Manta Resort is not a typical 5 star luxury resort and certainly different to what you might find on other tropical islands. If you’re expecting bling bling bling you will be disappointed. If you however are looking for serenity, close encounters with nature and a close knit family of people we look forward to sharing our island with you. Upon arrival. It is a 1.5 hour drive from the airport on a bumpy African road (we call it the Pemba massage) however that is part of the charm and adventure of getting to us on the very northern tip of Pemba. You will also get to see a lot of Pemba Island on your way to us so we do hope this is an interesting and fun experience for you.

When and where does the tour end?
Your tour Ends in Zanzibar Airport. We highly recommend booking accommodation to give yourself time to ease any logistics one day before safari!
When and where does the tour start?
Day 1 of this tour is an arrival day, and it will involve a pick up at Zanzibar airport and connect with charter flight to Pemba
Do you arrange airport transfers?
We definitely have airport pick up and drop up services available for our clients who have booked our full packages tour. We are also pleased to inform you that we don’t charge for the pick up and drop off services. Actually it’s free of cost. But for this you need to provide the arrival time and date.
What about the local language? Do we need guide services everywhere?
We provide English speaking chauffeurs for individual tours. For group tours, English speaking tour escorts would accompany the groups. During sightseeing involving historically important places or monuments, we provide English speaking local guides who are well knowledge in history and culture. We could even provide guides who speak French, German and Japanese but only on advanced booking
Is tipping included in the tour cost? If not how much should it be for the trip?
Tipping is not included in any of our packages and it is left the discretion of the travellers. Though not compulsory, tipping is expected by one and all involved in the service industry. We would recommend carrying small change in your pocket. Tips to Guides or other services rendered (Highly recommended)
