DAY 1

Arrival in Kibale Forest National Park – Chimpanzee Trekking

Your day begins with an early breakfast before catching a morning flight to Kasese Airstrip, the gateway to Kibale Forest National Park. Upon landing, you’ll be welcomed by your driver and taken through the scenic Ugandan countryside to your lodge near the forest, where you will have lunch. Afterward, you’ll head to the Kibale Forest park headquarters to join a group of fellow trekkers for an afternoon chimpanzee trek. Following a short briefing by park officials, you’ll be assigned an expert ranger guide, who will lead you into the dense rainforest in search of the chimpanzees. Kibale Forest is home to over 2,000 chimpanzees, making it one of Africa's best destinations for primate tracking. As you trek through the forest, your guide will help you locate a chimpanzee troop by tracking their calls and movements. Once you find them, you’ll have the incredible opportunity to observe these intelligent creatures up close as they socialize, feed, and move through the trees. DAY 2

Scenic Drive to Bwindi via Queen Elizabeth National Park's Ishasha Sector

After breakfast, you will depart Kibale Forest for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, embarking on a scenic drive through stunning landscapes and traditional villages. The journey takes you through Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most famous wildlife reserves. You’ll drive from the northern side of the park to its southernmost Ishasha sector, known for its incredible wildlife sightings. This is where you’ll stop for a picnic lunch, surrounded by the park's beauty. Along the way, keep an eye out for elephants, buffalo, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, topis, and perhaps even a leopard. The highlight of this stretch is the chance to spot the famous tree-climbing lions that are unique to this part of Uganda. After your wildlife encounters, you’ll continue the drive further south, arriving at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the rare and endangered mountain gorillas. Though it’s the longest driving day of your trip, the scenic route and wildlife sightings make the journey enjoyable. Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

This is the highlight of your safari adventure! After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park headquarters by 7:30 am to meet fellow trekkers. You’ll receive a detailed briefing from the park staff about the day’s activity before being assigned a lead guide who will take you into the dense forest. Your goal is to find a specific gorilla family, and the trek can take anywhere from 2 to 7 hours, depending on the gorilla family's location that day. As you move through the thick foliage, anticipation builds until you finally encounter these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. Spending time with the mountain gorillas, observing their behaviors, and understanding their social dynamics is a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. After the trek, you’ll return to your lodge to rest and reflect on this incredible experience. If you're up for more adventure, you may opt for an evening community walk through nearby villages, offering a glimpse into the local culture and life near the forest.
