The wonderful thing about Roving Bushtops is that it enables us to set up camp in the part of the vast Serengeti plains best suited to changing conditions, migration patterns and the best game viewing opportunities. We tend to move between two locations in any year, giving us access to the unimaginably vast 10,000 square mile (15,000 square kilometre) Serengeti ecosystem, of which almost two thirds forms the national park.
The smallest destination has just eight tents, but maintains the exceptional standards set by all Bushtops camps. Each of our unique wheeled tents provides exclusive comfort and a haven of peace at the heart of your Serengeti adventure. Pinch yourself, to confirm you’ve truly reconnected – to paradise!
This unique camp is a collection of boxes on wheels that can be towed anywhere in the Serengeti. The six containing guest suites are Swiss-designed engineering marvels. When unpacked, each converts into a luxury suite containing a king-sized bed, an ensuite bathroom, a sunken hot tub and a private viewing deck. Lightweight solar panels supply power for recharging devices, while fresh water is stored in tanks and heated again, using the sun. Dine in the privacy of your suite attended to by your personal butler, or in the open-sided mess tent which features a campfire just outside. Expect haute cuisine, a combination of international and local flavours as well as a collection of exceptional wines.
Roving Bushtops sits proudly in the Central Serengeti, in the peaceful Seronera Valley, where there is plenty of permanent resident game all year-round. Several times a year, the migration arrives right on its doorstep. In other months, wildebeest herds are just a short game drive away. The camp only moves if wildlife movements dictate or if park regulations require them to – for now, it occupies the most magnificent site possible.
