The representative will assist you through customs and with your luggage before escorting you to the pickup area, where a member of the andBeyond team will be waiting to drive you to Wilson Airport for your onward flight to andBeyond Kichwa Tembo Airstrip to begin your Masai Mara adventure.

What is included in the safari packages?

Your package includes accommodation in luxury lodges and tented camps, all meals, soft drinks, selected alcoholic beverages, twice-daily game drives, guided nature walks, transfers, Swarovski binoculars, and a Guides’ Journal with maps and wildlife information. Some activities, like hot air balloon rides or scenic helicopter flights, are available at an additional cost.

When is the best time to visit Kenya and Zanzibar?

The best time for wildlife viewing in Kenya is during the dry seasons: June to October and December to February. In Zanzibar, the ideal time for beach and ocean activities is June to October and December to March, when the weather is dry and sunny.

What wildlife can I expect to see on this safari?

You may encounter the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino—plus cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, African wild dogs, and hundreds of bird species. Rare sightings, like the black (melanistic) leopard, are possible in Laikipia.

Do I need to be an experienced diver for Mnemba Island activities?

No. Snorkeling, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and Hobie water experiences are suitable for all levels. Scuba diving is available for certified divers, with up to two dives per day included for those with PADI certification.

Are the accommodations safe and comfortable?

Yes. Lodges and camps, including andBeyond Bateleur, Suyian Lodge, and Mnemba Island, are fully equipped with ensuite bathrooms, indoor/outdoor showers, private decks, and attentive staff to ensure comfort and safety throughout your stay.

Will I need vaccinations or medications?

Travelers are advised to check with their local health provider. Yellow fever vaccination may be required for entry to Tanzania. Malaria prophylaxis is recommended for Kenya, especially in the Mara and Laikipia regions.

Can special dietary requirements be accommodated?

Yes. Please inform us in advance, and the lodges will accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or other dietary needs.

How physically demanding is the safari?

The itinerary offers a mix of vehicle-based game drives, light walking, horseback or camel safaris, and island relaxation. Activities are flexible, and guests can choose their level of participation to suit their comfort.
