This short safari is perfect for travelers with limited time. It offers an exciting chance to explore two of Tanzania’s most famous wildlife destinations: Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater.
Your journey begins with an early morning drive from Arusha or Moshi to Tarangire National Park. This park is known for its massive elephant herds and striking baobab trees. Its varied landscape includes open savannah, seasonal swamps, and river valleys. You’ll enjoy a full-day game drive, with the chance to see elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, wildebeests, and many bird species. After a picnic lunch in the park, you’ll head to the town of Karatu, located near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You’ll spend the night in a comfortable lodge surrounded by green highlands.
On day two, you’ll visit the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The crater is home to an incredible range of wildlife, including the Big Five – lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhino. After an early breakfast, you’ll descend into the crater for a game drive across its lush floor. You’ll pass through grasslands, forests, and swamps, and enjoy a picnic lunch near a hippo pool. The rich ecosystem supports hyenas, warthogs, gazelles, flamingos, and more.
In the afternoon, you’ll drive back to Arusha or Moshi. You’ll arrive in the early evening with memories of a short but unforgettable safari.
This tour is ideal for solo travelers, couples, and families who want a quick taste of Tanzania’s incredible wildlife and landscapes.
