Flying directly from Nairobi to the Mara saves hours on the road and gives you more time in the wilderness. The aerial views of the Great Rift Valley and rolling savannahs create a memorable start to your journey.
Once in the Mara, your base will be Neptune Mara Rianta Luxury Camp. Set along the banks of the Mara River, the camp offers an intimate connection with nature. Your safari begins in Nairobi, where you’ll be transferred to Wilson Airport for a scenic flight to the Masai Mara. From the air, enjoy sweeping views of the Great Rift Valley, patchwork farmlands, and the endless savannah plains below. Upon landing at the airstrip, your driver-guide will meet you for a short game drive on the way to your camp.
Arrive at Neptune Mara Rianta Luxury Camp, a riverside retreat surrounded by lush greenery and resident hippos in the Mara River. After a warm welcome, settle into your luxury tented suite and enjoy lunch with views of the river.
In the late afternoon, head out for your first game drive across the Mara’s golden plains. With luck, you’ll spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, and perhaps the first big cats of your journey. Return to camp at sunset for cocktails by the fire, followed by a gourmet dinner under the starlit African sky.
Wake up early to the sounds of the Mara bush and prepare for a sunrise game drive, the best time to observe wildlife when predators are most active. With your expert guide, explore the Mara’s rolling savannahs, spotting lions lounging in the morning sun, cheetahs stealthily moving through the grass, and elephants roaming in family groups. Keep your camera ready for zebras, giraffes, hippos, and buffalo, and enjoy the breathtaking landscape dotted with acacia trees.
Mid-morning, stop for a bush breakfast in a scenic spot, with hot coffee, fresh pastries, and traditional safari snacks served as you listen to the sounds of nature around you. After breakfast, continue your safari drive into less-visited areas of the reserve, where you may witness unique predator-prey interactions, hippos wallowing in the river, or crocodiles basking along the banks.
Return to Neptune Mara Rianta Luxury Camp around midday for a relaxing lunch and some downtime. Lounge by the pool, enjoy the comfort of your tent, or simply watch the riverbank wildlife from your private deck.
In the afternoon, set out on another game drive, exploring different corners of the Mara to maximize wildlife sightings. Your guide will tailor the route based on the latest wildlife movements, increasing your chances of encountering the Big Five or catching sight of a dramatic hunt.
Optional experiences for this day include a sunrise hot-air balloon safari over the Mara plains, ending with a champagne breakfast in the bush, or a cultural visit to a Maasai village, where you can learn about traditional customs and lifestyle. As the sun sets, return to camp for cocktails, dinner, and an evening by the campfire, reliving the day’s unforgettable encounters under a starlit African sky.
Wake up early to the sounds of the Mara and enjoy a light breakfast before your final morning game drive. This is your last opportunity to soak in the vast landscapes and abundant wildlife of the reserve. Traverse the plains one last time with your expert guide, spotting any species you may have missed—lions lounging under acacia trees, elephants moving in herds, or cheetahs gracefully hunting. Take advantage of the soft morning light for photography and savor the unique moments that make the Mara unforgettable.
Mid-morning, return to Neptune Mara Rianta Luxury Camp to check out and enjoy a final coffee or snack while reflecting on your safari experience. Transfer to the airstrip for your scenic flight back to Nairobi, where you’ll descend over the sweeping plains and Rift Valley landscapes, carrying memories of wildlife encounters, dramatic vistas, and luxurious camp experiences.
Upon arrival in Nairobi, your guide will transfer you to your hotel, airport, or onward destination. Even though the safari is short, it delivers a complete and seamless experience—combining the thrill of African wildlife with the comfort of luxurious accommodation and expert guidance. This 3-day adventure leaves you with unforgettable impressions of Kenya’s iconic Masai Mara and a desire to return for even more bush adventures.
