Mikumi is home to large herds of elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests, along with hyenas, leopards, lions, sable antelopes, and greater kudus. The park’s diverse ecosystems, including open savannahs, wetlands, and woodlands, provide an ideal habitat for these magnificent animals.

Notably, the chances of spotting tree-climbing lions here are higher than in the renowned Lake Manyara National Park, Making it a unique highlight of your safari experience. After a warm welcome, you will be transferred to your hotel in Dar Es Salaam for a brief tour overview.

This introduction will prepare you for the excitement ahead as you set out to explore one of Tanzania’s premier wildlife destinations. On your first day in Mikumi, you will embark on game drives that take you through the heart of the park, allowing you to witness the stunning scenery and wildlife up close.

With the guidance of your expert driver/guide, you’ll learn about the various species and their behaviors, enhancing your understanding of the intricate ecosystem.
