Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport this morning, you will be met and transferred to Arusha Domestic Airport for your one-hour flight to Mwiba Airstrip. Once you arrive at Mwiba, you'll meet your guide and transfer the short distance to Mwiba Tented Lodge, where you’ll stay for three nights on a fully inclusive basis. Mwiba Tented Lodge Mwiba is an exclusive safari lodge situated on a private 129,000-acre reserve south of Serengeti National Park. The rugged terrain is dense with vegetation, characterized by boulder-strewn hills and rocky kopjes, contrasting with the open savannah plains of central Serengeti. Its remoteness—shared only with its sister property, Mila Tented Camp—and spectacular views of the Rift Valley and Lake Eyasi enhance its appeal. From December to March, you can often witness the annual wildebeest migration in the nearby Ndutu region, easily accessible from Mwiba. Guests at Mwiba enjoy a private vehicle and guide, with options for half-day or full-day game drives within the reserve. The lodge's location allows for unique activities not available in Serengeti National Park, including bush and escarpment walks, night game drives, fly camping (at an additional cost), and helicopter rides (also at an additional cost). Mwiba Lodge features ten luxurious tented suites, each equipped with a sophisticated cooling system, a king-size bed, indoor and outdoor showers, a freestanding bathtub, and a private verandah overlooking the wilderness. Facilities include a swimming pool, heated jacuzzi, spa, gym, and library.
Exploring Mwiba Private Game Reserve and the Southern Serengeti The next two days will be dedicated to exploring the Mwiba Wildlife Reserve through a combination of game drives and guided walks. You’ll have your own private guide and vehicle, allowing you to set your own pace and schedule as you delve into this vast wilderness. Full-day drives with picnic lunches can be arranged, or you may choose a more relaxed itinerary with morning and afternoon game drives complemented by guided walks within the reserve. During your stay, you’ll also have the chance to venture beyond Mwiba into the southern Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Highlands. From January to March, the wildebeest herds typically gather in the Ndutu region for calving season, making this an especially wonderful time to visit. In addition to game drives and guided walks, fly camping and helicopter air safaris can also be arranged at an additional cost.
On your final day, savor an early morning game drive, taking in the last glimpses of the stunning wildlife and landscapes. Afterward, return to Mwiba Lodge for a delicious breakfast. Following your meal, you’ll transfer to the airstrip to catch your late morning flight to Arusha or Zanzibar, where new adventures await.
