The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely populated wildlife areas in Africa, home to approximately 30,000 animals, including some of Tanzania's last remaining black rhinos. Thanks to a year-round supply of water and ample fodder, the crater supports a diverse array of wildlife, including herds of wildebeest, zebras, buffalo, elands, warthogs, hippos, and massive African elephants. The area is also famous for its impressive population of predators, such as lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard.
