Travel Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Arusha

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be met by your transfer driver who will drive you for about 90 minutes to your hotel in Arusha. Look out for iconic views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru out of your right-hand window on the way. If you arrive early, there will be time for you to spend the afternoon bird watching in the garden, enjoy a coffee tasting tour in a nearby estate, visit a market in town or simply relax by the pool. After a tasty dinner in your hotel, you will spend your first night in Tanzania relaxing before heading off on your safari the following morning. Meals on request. Overnight: African Tulip Hotel

Day 2

Game Drive in Tarangire

After breakfast, transfer to Tarangire national park for a thrilling safari. The park lies between the meadows of Masai Steppe to the south east and the lakes of the Great Rift Valley to the north and west. Within the northern part of Tarangire is the permanent River Tarangire also known as the life-line of the park particularly in the dry season when most of the region is totally dry. This flows northwards until it exits the park in the northwestern corner to pour into Lake Burungi. There are a number of wide swamps which dry into green plains during the dry season in the south. Dinner and overnight: Maramboi Tented Lodge

Day 3

Llake Manyara National Park

Today, transfer to Lake Manyara national park. Enjoy a game drive and find hippos, flamingos and several different bird species. Then it's an afternoon transfer to Kisima Ngeda near Lake Eyasi.

Nestled in a fever tree forest and backed by a rocky hill, Kisima Ngeda is a cozy camp that overlooks the salt-water seasonal Lake Eyasi. Eight palm-roofed, fully equipped tented chalets await guests who can lose themselves in the expansive views of the Alipi escarpment. The changing tones of the day provide a natural tonic for sundowners on tent decks and wholesome food is prepared and served up by local chefs in the palm-thatched communal bar, lounge and dining room. At day’s end, a Tanganyika boiler is fired up with palm fronds for your shower before you retire and fall asleep to a lullaby of Nightjars and the sounds of the forest. Kisima Ngeda lies in the ancestral lands of the Hazdabe hunter-gatherers and Datoga people, who graciously share their art, lifestyle, cuisine, and culture with visitors.

Dinner and overnight: Kisima Ngeda Tented Camp

Day 4

Meet Hadzabe Tribe

this early morning, go on a hunt with the Bushmen, with tuition in survival skills.

With an estimated population of fewer than 2,000 individuals, the Hadzabe are one of the last tribes to stay true to their tribal history. Existing far from the crowds and globalization that inevitably follow tourism, they exist much as they always have. The Hadzabe people live in caves near Lake Eyasi, and their isolation and shrinking numbers have allowed them to avoid the HIV epidemic and other diseases that have spread due to intertribal marriages. Men typically hunt and bring home honey to feed their families, while women and children gather fruits, berries, and roots with which to supplement their diet. The men are particularly adept hunters, and their daring and inventive hunting style is a sight to behold. Using parts harvested from other animals, they cunningly lure and put down game. They use locally made poisons and ingenious camouflage to hunt. As this is their only source of food, they are the only tribe permitted to hunt in the Serengeti. Tonight, dinner and overnight at Kitela Lodge

Day 5

Ngorongoro Crater

This morning, drive a short distance to Ngorongoro's entry gate for a safari in the dramatic Ngorongoro Crater. This is a place of rare wonders as its status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site confers. Formed by a massive volcanic eruption, the world’s largest intact and un-flooded caldera provides a year-round home to an astonishing 25,000 large mammals including black rhino, wildebeest and zebra along with Africa’s densest concentrations of lion. The Crater's forests shelter elephant and buffalo, its wetlands are home to hippos and flamingos while hyena, wild dog, leopard and cheetah make up the full range of predators. Return to Kitela Lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 6

Karatu-Arusha

After a leisurely breakfast, drive back to Arusha for onward arrangements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Let’s clarify your confusions. Here are some of the Frequently Asked Questions which most of our client asks.

Have a question in mind

Looking for more info? Send a question to the tour agent to find out more.

When and where does the tour end?

Your tour Ends in Arusha Airport. We highly recommend booking accommodation to give yourself time to ease any logistics one day before safari!

When and where does the tour start?

Day 1 of this tour is an arrival day, and it will involve a drop off from Kilimanjaro airport to your hotel in Arusha.

Do you arrange airport transfers?

We definitely have airport pick up and drop up services available for our clients who have booked our full packages tour. We are also pleased to inform you that we don’t charge for the pick up and drop off services. Actually it’s free of cost. But for this you need to provide the arrival time and date.

What about the local language? Do we need guide services everywhere?

We provide English speaking chauffeurs for individual tours. For group tours, English speaking tour escorts would accompany the groups. During sightseeing involving historically important places or monuments, we provide English speaking local guides who are well knowledged in history and culture. We could even provide guides who speak French, German and Japanese but only on advanced booking.

Is tipping included in the tour cost? If not how much should it be for the trip?

Tipping is not included in any of our packages and it is left the discretion of the travellers. Though not compulsory, tipping is expected by one and all involved in the service industry. We would recommend carrying small change in your pocket. Tips to Guides or other services rendered (Highly recommended)

What is the age travel limit for children?

We accept children of all ages to travel on safari and believe it is a wonderful experience for families to travel together. For children to make the most out of their travels, we suggest looking into one of our special family itineraries. We have car seats available for very young children. Please bear in mind, some of the accommodation have minimum age restrictions, so please inform us of the age of your child/children.

How does the weather influence a safari?

While a safari holiday can be had at any time of year, it is worth noting that seasonality will impact the type of experience you’re likely to have as well as the cost of your safari. During the dry season, the wildlife tends to congregate around the few remaining watering holes. Vegetation at this time is sparse making the animals easier to spot. The wet season is abundant both in vegetation and wildlife, as this is the birthing season – which means predators come out in force to prey on vulnerable newborns. Whichever season you choose to travel in, rest assured that the chosen camps are well equipped for the East African climate and to ensure your comfort at all times.

Can I combine my safari with a trip to Zanzibar?

Definitely - Zanzibar is a great addition to any safari itinerary or even just as an idyllic escape on its own!
