Travel Itinerary

Day 1 - Arusha – Tarangire National Park – Karatu

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha at around 8:00 AM and begin the drive to Tarangire National Park, which takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Along the way, enjoy views of local villages, Maasai communities, and the beautiful Tanzanian countryside.

Upon arrival at the park, start your first game drive through Tarangire’s diverse landscapes. The park is famous for its giant baobab trees, large elephant herds, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and numerous bird species. You may also spot predators such as lions and leopards during the drive.

At midday, stop at a designated picnic site inside the park and enjoy a hot lunch while surrounded by nature.

In the afternoon, continue exploring different areas of the park, including the Tarangire River, which attracts many animals, especially during the dry season. This is an excellent opportunity for photography and close wildlife encounters.

Later in the day, exit the park and drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 - Karatu – Serengeti National Park (Central Serengeti)

After breakfast, depart from your lodge in Karatu and begin your journey to the world-famous Serengeti National Park. The drive takes you through the scenic landscapes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, offering beautiful views of the highlands, crater surroundings, and local Maasai villages.

As you enter the Serengeti, enjoy an en-route game drive through the park’s stunning wilderness. The Serengeti is one of Africa’s greatest wildlife destinations, known for its endless grasslands and incredible concentration of animals.

During the game drive, look out for large herds of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, giraffes, elephants, and buffaloes. The area is also home to famous predators such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas.

Day 3 - Full-Day Serengeti National Park Game Drive

Begin your morning with a game drive across the Serengeti plains as animals are most active during the early hours. Your experienced driver-guide will take you through different areas of the park in search of exciting wildlife encounters.

The Serengeti is famous for its large populations of lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, and gazelles. With luck, you may witness predators hunting or resting after a successful hunt.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park while surrounded by the sounds and beauty of the African wilderness. After lunch, continue with an afternoon game drive exploring more areas of the Serengeti and searching for new wildlife sightings.

Continue your journey towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying an en-route game drive as you leave the Serengeti plains. Along the way, you may spot herds of wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, elephants, and other wildlife moving through this incredible ecosystem.

As you travel, enjoy breathtaking views of the changing landscapes, from the open Serengeti grasslands to the beautiful highlands surrounding the Ngorongoro Crater. The area is also home to the Maasai people, offering a glimpse into their traditional way of life.

Spend the morning exploring the crater floor on a game drive. The crater is home to a remarkable variety of wildlife due to its permanent water sources and rich grasslands. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to search for the Big Five, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and the rare black rhino.

You may also see large numbers of zebras, wildebeest, hippos, gazelles, hyenas, and many bird species around the crater’s lakes and open plains. Your guide will share information about the crater’s history, wildlife, and unique ecosystem.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated area inside the crater while surrounded by the incredible scenery. After lunch, continue with a final short game drive before ascending from the crater and beginning your journey back to Arusha.
