This morning, you will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha and transferred to Tarangire National park, known for its large elephant herds, baobab trees and tree-climbing pythons. Enjoy an extended game drive with a picnic lunch on one of the available picnic sites ending at Lake Burunge Tented Lodge. Dinner and overnight. Overnight: Lake Burunge Tented Lodge.
After an early breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara for an enjoyable safari in the wildlife preserve. Lake Manyara's rich variety of natural habitats are set around the soda lake, itself a haven for clouds of flamingos and other waterbirds. This is a paradise for birding enthusiasts! The forested valleys and open savannah plains support a large elephant population as well as giraffe, buffalo and many antelope species. There are fewer predators but topping the list are Lake Manyara's lions, famous for their habit of climbing trees. Dinner and overnight Tloma Lodge
Ngorongoro, is the worlds largest intact caldera and home to an astonishing numbers of animals. The crater has long protected a thriving population of big game species: great-tusked elephants, robust black rhinos and famous black-maned lions. After an early breakfast from your lodge, drive into the Ngorongoro highlands and descend into the crater, one of the few places in Africa where the Big 5 can be seen in a single game drive! Enjoy a full day of safari and a delicious picnic lunch on the crater plains, returning to Tloma Lodge for dinner and overnight. This lodge with 24 small cottages built in colonial style has been built on the foothills of the highlands of Ngorongoro. The design of the entire property creates an atmosphere evoking the colonial plantations and farms described in many books and films. The excellent location of Tloma on the top of a valley offers fantastic views over a coffee plantation and the walls of the Ngorongoro crater which can be enjoyed from the private terraces of the rooms. Overnight: Tloma Lodge
After a leisurely breakfast, transfer through the Ngorongoro highlands into the the vast plains of the Serengeti. Today will be spent mostly on game drive, exploring the central reaches of the large wildlife preserve, which is overflowing with an abundance of animals. Your base for the next three nights is the lovely Embalakai Camp. With only 13 spacious tents, the camp alludes privacy and comfort that is very much essential in the busy national park. Enjoy short morning and afternoon safaris from the cam and when you sit to relax at the camp, wildlife will come right to you at the comfort of your balcony! Dinner and overnight.
